Neoprene is the same material wetsuits are made from – soft, springy and water-friendly. Lining a collar with it gives a French Bulldog a cushioned band that molds to the short, thick neck and stays comfortable through hours of wear without pressing into the neck folds.

Frenchies get into water, drool, and generally keep a collar damp. Neoprene does not soak up moisture the way fabric does, so it dries quickly and resists the funky smell that a wet cloth collar picks up. Less irritation for fold-prone skin, too.
