Most harnesses are cut for dogs with long necks and narrow chests. A French Bulldog is the opposite – short neck, wide barrel chest, thick shoulders – so a standard harness rides up into the throat or gaps at the sides. This no-pull harness is sized and shaped for that stocky frame, sitting low across the sternum where a Frenchie carries their strength.
Keeps pressure off the airway
Frenchies are brachycephalic, which means their airways are already working harder than a long-nosed dog’s. Anything that presses on the windpipe on a walk can trigger that honking, gasping cough. The padded front chest plate on this harness takes the force of a pull and distributes it across the breastbone and shoulders, away from the neck entirely.
