Hi, I’m Sofia, Nina’s parent and the person behind everything you read here. Nina is my French Bulldog, and this whole site started because of her: the vet bills, the 2 a.m. snorting, the skin folds I had no idea I’d be cleaning, the endless trial and error of figuring out what food didn’t wreck her stomach. I kept wishing someone would just tell me, plainly, what actually worked. So I started writing it down.

What Nina the Frenchie is

Nina the Frenchie is a blog about living with a French Bulldog, honestly. Not the glossy, everything-is-perfect version, but the real one: what to feed a gassy or picky Frenchie, how to find a harness that doesn’t press on that short little airway, how often to actually bathe them, what the tail pocket is and why you can’t ignore it. Every post comes from either lived experience with Nina or genuine research, and usually both.

When I cover health topics, I lean on my vet’s guidance and real veterinary studies rather than repeating whatever the internet says. Frenchies are a specific breed with specific problems like brachycephalic breathing, sensitive skin, and food sensitivities, and they deserve advice written for them, not generic dog content.

Why you can trust what you read here

I’m not a vet, and I’ll never pretend to be one. Anything health-related here comes with a “talk to your vet” because that’s genuinely the right call. What I am is a Frenchie parent who’s been through the day-to-day of it and does the homework before recommending anything. When I say a product is worth it, it’s because I’ve either used it with Nina or dug into what’s actually in it and how it fits the breed. When something is overhyped, I’ll tell you that too.
